The heart of what we do

Showing up for our community is at the heart of what we do.  At Windermere, we believe that being part of a community means more than simply living and working here. It means showing up, lending a hand, and taking care of the people and places that make our communities special. That is why every year in June, Windermere offices across the region participate in our Community Day of Service. Each office dedicates time to organizations and causes that make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.

This year, our Windermere Anacortes team decided to do things a little differently. Rather than limiting our service to a single day, our team volunteered with Dinner at the Brick. Dinner at the Brick is a weekly community meal hosted at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Anacortes. Our agents, admin, and owners came together to volunteer on June 21 and again on August 16. Together, they helped prepare and serve warm meals to members of our local community.

A Meal, A Place to Gather & A Community That Cares

Dinner at the brick

The Westminster Presbyterian Church has hosted a Sunday evening meal for nearly 30 years.  This gathering is called Dinner at the Brick  and is a free weekly hot community meal served every Sunday from 4:30–5:00 p.m. Everyone is welcomed. If interested in a future meal you can find it located at 1300 9th Street in Anacortes. There are no fees and no eligibility requirements. It is simply an opportunity for people to come together, share a meal, and experience the warmth of community. Various churches, organizations, and community groups take turns helping prepare and serve the meals. It is a wonderful example of what can happen when people come together to support one another. It is a prime example of why we call Anacortes home.

Giving Back, Together

For our Windermere Anacortes team, volunteering at Dinner at the Brick was about more than serving food. It was an opportunity to connect with our community in a different way. We got to work alongside one another, and contribute to an organization that has been quietly making a difference in Anacortes for decades. We are incredibly grateful for the volunteers and organizations who continue to make Dinner at the Brick possible and for the welcoming spirit they extend to everyone who walks through their doors. Community is at the heart of what we do at Windermere. Whether we’re helping someone find their first home, supporting a local business, or simply volunteering our time, we believe in investing in the community and people where we call home.

A special thank-you to our Windermere Anacortes team for showing up and giving back, and to Dinner at the Brick for allowing us to be part of such a meaningful community tradition. ❤️

Because sometimes, making a difference starts with something as simple as sharing a meal.
